Mark F. Burton, CEO of International Armoring Corporation (IAC) announced today that IAC is opening a new facility on the island of Malta
Ogden, UT – August 15, 2006 – Mark F. Burton, CEO of International Armoring Corporation (IAC) announced today that IAC is opening a new facility on the island of Malta to handle the increased demand for armored vehicles in the Middle East. Mr. Burton signed the contract for the plant while in Malta last week. This action was necessitated due to the fact that IAC’s other plants within the region are operating at more than full capacity and the recent confirmation of the third phase of a governmental contract. The third phase of the governmental contract amounts to an additional US$9 million of production for IAC.
“Due to approval of the third phase of this contract and the surge in demand from other clients in the region, the opening of this facility became necessary” Mr. Burton said. All design, engineering and component preparation, for all these vehicles, will be done in the Ogden facility. IAC technicians, from Ogden, will travel to Malta (located strategically in the Mediterranean Ocean) to set up the facility and train local technicians. An IAC manager will be sent from the US to manage the Malta plant. Actual production will begin on November 1, 2006.
With worldwide headquarters in Ogden, Utah, IAC has grown to be the premier manufacturer of armored passenger vehicles in the world. Known for their use of light weight armoring materials and proprietary designs, IAC’s vehicles are lighter, offer better protection and maintain their original appearance. IAC has placed manufacturing plants and service facilities in 14 different countries. Over 5,000 vehicles have been modified and shipped to more than 50 different countries since 1993. In addition, IAC has built vehicles for 34 different foreign Presidents and Heads of State (the majority from the Ogden facility). Governments, subcontractors, militaries, international corporations, religious leaders, vehicle manufacturers, and other wealthy individuals use IAC vehicles and technology.
